The Group has mobilized its staff to join a volunteer trip to Chongqing City organized by the Emperor Group. Participants visited a rural secondary school and met some of students whose parents were away from home working in the city. Such children and teenagers, found in most rural areas in China, are deprived of parental care and connection with the world outside. This constitutes to a rising nationwide social issue. Participants showed their concern for the students in a 4-day tour with interactive activities and in-kind donations to complement their newly built music and art rooms.
Grand Emperor Hotel was remained as a “Green Hotel”, a title it has earned from the Macau SAR Government with years of dedication to care for the environment.
Social Responsibilities 2011/2012
The Group has continued to plough back to the community during the Year. As a yearly tradition, staff members have volunteered to join a friendship tour to Shun Ping Country, Hebei Province organized by the Emperor Group. They have paid a visit to “Albert Yeung Sau Shing Charity Foundation (Shun Ping) Elderly Care Centre”, an elderly home sponsored by Emperor Group, where they have given their regards to the otherwise homeless seniors there.
Grand Emperor Hotel has held fast to its dedication to care for the environment. It has maintained its title as a “Green Hotel” with the Macau SAR Government and continued to run various internal recycling campaigns to collect reusable materials from staff.
In recognition of the Group’s involvement in charity and community activities, Hong Kong Council of Social Service has awarded Grand Emperor Hotel and the Caring Company Logo for the year 2011-2012. The Group has won the honour for the fourth time in a row ever since the year 2008-2009.
Social Responsibilities 2010/2011
The Group has organized and joined various community activities during the Year. During the Mid-autumn Festival, the Group mobilized its staff to visit and elderly care home with moon cakes and festival greetings. Some others joint a volunteer trip to the rural Qujiang region in Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province, organized by its mother company Emperor Group in November. They spent a day at a primary school, putting on a fun day of races and games specially themed with the 16th Asian Games taking place in Guangzhou City at that time. They also paid home visits to some of the children. This served to express the Group’s care top the children there, who are deprived of modern material benefits that caused hindrance to their future in the modern economy of China.
On top of continuing its regular standards as a green hotel, the Group organized two recycling campaigns to collect moon cake packaging and second-hand clothes from staff to reinforce overall staff awareness of environmental protection.
Also, in response to the frequent natural disasters worldwide in the year of 2010, the Group has raised substantial donations to support relief works for the earthquakes in Haiti and Qinghai Province as well as the mudslide disaster in Gansu Province.
Grand Emperor Hotel has been awarded the Caring Company Logo in the year 2010-2011 by Hong Kong Council of Social Service in recognition of its involvement in charity and community activities. It is the third consecutive year Grand Emperor Hotel has won this honour since the year 2008-2009.
